Reflecting on 12 years of Pitch

From our humble beginnings in 2011, armed with one great client and a whole lot of ambition, our Director, Stephen Sealey, started Pitch Public Relations. A Brisbane-based PR agency, Stephen was passionate about ensuring every business, no matter how small, had the opportunity to tell their stories.

A former News Ltd journalist for two decades, Stephen wanted Pitch to represent an innovative approach to PR. One that focused on storytelling through a variety of content forms, which ultimately led him to enter the digital world of social media.

We asked the boss man (Stephen) about his story of starting Pitch.

“I’d been working in PR for a few years before I started Pitch. I wanted to bring my own style to an agency, use my storytelling skills and the experience I had built up in daily newspapers, to the PR arena. That is, to offer clients top-quality content and the news judgement that comes with many years in journalism,” he said.

“We now tell stories across so many different channels, whether it’s a media release, a website story, an eDM or a video, our fundamental skill is identifying and telling great stories that get a reaction from the right audience.”

While our portfolio of clients grows by the day, we’ve had the privilege of working with a variety of long-term clients that we’ve supported for many years, such as Lendlease, Reside Communities and Australian Heritage Specialists just to name a few.

But that’s not all. Since 2011 Pitch has proudly;

  • Supported, consulted to and collaborated with around 100 local and national businesses
  • Worked across many sectors, both locally and nationally, including property, resources, renewables, health, professional services, disability and more
  • Maintained long-term clients as long as 7+ years (and counting)
  • Filmed and edited more than 200 videos

Our storytellers

Over the years, our adaptable Brisbane PR agency has expanded to encompass a team of experienced digital content specialists, videographers and communications professionals collaborating to develop a broad scope of services.

Most recently, our intern turned Social Media Assistant, Lilyana van Twest, was crowned the 2023 Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) Student of the Year!

A testament to our high-calibre team, Pitch was also acknowledged as a finalist in the Boutique Agency of the Year category, joining a list of highly accredited agencies responsible for some of Australia’s most recognisable communications campaigns.
